A twit...

Oh dear

This inventor seems to be more interested in showing off gadgets/silly ideas, rather than being excited over the kicking of the unborn... Or maybe I am just too cynical, I never really 'got' Twitter anyway...
I only find it entertaining to read what the famous kids are up to.
Also, if you care that much to have a text message every time your littleun kicks, get poor long suffering partner to text to, don't make social networking websites even more tedious than necessary.

My baby kicks a stupid amounts of times at night, maybe I would get some satisfaction from my partner getting as little sleep as me... Hmmm, that is food for thought...

Another thing, not to buy... The Kickbee fetal monitor

Tessel: 2 in 1 Puzzle Playmat Morphs Into Toys

Assemble_Rocking_Horse_From_Educational_Play_Mat

Tessell toys are designed to enhance creativity in kids by allowing the colorful play mat to be disassembled and made into different types of objects, such as a rocking horse or whatever their imagination can create from the various interconnecting animal-shaped pieces. Not only do toys like this promote creativity in children they are also multi-functional which, as most parents will testify, saves on valuable storage space. Wowwiee!

As easy as 123... :/

I have one hundred and twenty-three days left until our child is due, and I still am yet to see how it is possible for a person to come out through my most sensitive and small lady regions.

ARGH!

Things you need not buy

The Ritmo Nuvo Mp3 player. Plays your music to your bump. Or something...
'Ritmo allows you and your baby to share the sensory and emotional experience of bonding through sound and music, while being supportive, safe, and stylish at the same time.' - When are people going to admit that you don't really 'share' anything with your baby at this point. It can hear stuff yes, it can hear you, It can kick you. It doesn't have the ability to appreciate the finer things in life yet such as your new Eminem album...
Sort it out.
Also, I have seen more stylish bits of 'kit' at an old people's home.

The Mon Babe Perfume... For your baby?
Yeah, that's right a perfume to make your baby smell more like a baby. Claims to have aromatheraputic proprieties, I doubt it, as someone who dabbles in that sort of crazy thing you have to use strong essential oils which then need to be diluted for topical application. Not the kind of thing which is good for babies skin, also, perfume for your baby is just a really stupid idea and at £25 it's a snatch!

The 'Why baby cry' analyzer.
This apparently figures out why your child is crying... but going by the product description below I wouldn't feel comfortable buying from a company who sells to an English market yet has no grasp of the frickin' language.

Sometimes when a baby keep on crying, parents are so confused do not know what have to be done, at this point it would be nice to have a baby’s translator. Think Geek with this innovative product is here to rescue you by analyzing why your baby cry.

...Yeah

Disney's new range of maternity clothes.
NOTHING needs to be said here other that 'Ugh'.

Sweet cake tub baby bath
If you are one of those people who insist on pushing every passing fad onto your first born then this product for you. It's overpriced and used by passing celebrities all over. Hoorah.
Its unsuitable for new borns and takes up lots of room... Not to mention it's tacky and expensive to boot. What a combo!?

Prince Lionheart Ultimate Wipes Warmer
Just in case you never considered the temperature of shit, you will now! At a steal at £25.

MummyWraps with Swiss Shield®
Radiation protection for your unborn child. A fabric which apparently guards anything beneath it from radiation poisoning.
Mummywraps, geniuses in making money from people's most irrational fears - hence the discount for expectant mothers in Chernobyl.

Dream Machine exercise bike.
Using this machine will assist with you losing your baby fat because obviously we are all so fat and ugly after giving birth, childbirth, it's a that stop gap from being sexy to pretty much decrepit. The idea behind this machine is that we combine those efforts to being passable again with a rocking baby to sleep action.
Stupid.
Also you shouldn't exercise for a few months after being postpartum. So, just another reminder that all new mothers are fat and undesirable, obviously.
I picked this picture for it's fantastic tag line 'safer than putting baby on a real bike'... A baby microwave, safer than putting baby in a real microwave!

Strange

Mozart saves premature babies's lives... Well not really.

The 'if I was a millionaire' post. - Some nice baby design stuff

If I was made of money I would buy the following items.
Seeing as I am not (and I'm not too sure about spending so much money just for 9 or so months use), it's just a bit of fun. I love good design - it gets my bank account into trouble but throwing children into the mix makes for really interesting, as well as highly lucrative products.

The Okoa rocker:
The Hushomok 'Okoa' stand with hammock. $575. A bit lavish but also a bit lovely!

Frame Wallpaper:
Graham and Brown frame wallpaper. £17.99 a roll from wallpaperdirect. Perfect for making accidental doodles seem non accidental!

The Bloom baby bouncer.

Sleek all in one design baby bouncer by Bloom 'coco'. It comes in plexistyle plastic for £195 or in Plywood for £130

The handwoven cradle:

This handwoven crib was made from a tree taken from the artists back yard. Would make a lovely family heirloom. Its going on Etsy for quite modest $599.

The Sleepytime Rocker Nursing Chair:

Lovely nursing chair by NurseryWorks. Rocking chair to help bring baba to rest, whilst having a soft back pillow offering support for Mother's needs too. Retails at $1,249.95.

The Eames hang-it-all:
Another classic from the 60's Herman Miller range. Would look great in the yet-to-be nursery to hang all of those colourful bits and bobs on. £165 just seems a little OTT when there is a little nipper on the way!

Nathi by ByBoDesign:

ByBoDesign's wall mounted baby changer/nursing station entitled "Nathi". Made from moulded beech veneer. Can also come in white and mahogany. But I think this one is the most spiffing out of the lot. Out of all the items on this list I think I may save up for this one, seeing as I don't like most if not any of the baby changing units on the market. They usually take up a lot of space and look rather dull. Coming in flat pack pine or mdf coated white they also dont offer a lot of storage for the amount of room they take up.
There are a few exceptions to the rule but not many for under £400!
This item can be purchased from The Jellybean Group when buying in the UK for €383.

Baby's first book:

Rag and bone publishing
presents an array of handmade books for collecting memories and the like but this one is especially for baby and logging all its important bits. $68

The Nifty clear cot from Ubabub:
The Nifty clear cot design allow you to see baby quite easily as well as baby seeing you.
Without pointing out the obvious in its beauty this cot also doubles up as a toddler bed.
This, sadly for me, retails at AU $1,5999, translating to only about £900 then... Oh, no wait...

The Nuna highchair:

I love this plastic fantastic design. Baby clothes, furniture, etc usually reply on icongraphy of whimsy bears and beige illstrations, where I don't see that as family life at all. I expect it to be bright and vibrant, there is nothing 'beige' about my family whatsoever. These chairs are an example of good children design as they have grasped that in this product.
The Nuna chair is built to grow with your child; it has a sliding plastic mechnasism to support baby untill the age of 12! So with this in mind and depending on what your budget is maybe £190 isn't too shabby?

The Chocolatta cot:

This 'Chocolatta' cot by EcoAyris on Etsy.com comes in a variety of colours and is made from sustainable woods. Ain't too bad on the eye neither! $777.

The Boon Grass drying rack.

Stylish countertop drying rack, won't look out of place in the nursery, has bits and bobs to match. £20.

Donna Wilson blankets:

Lovely handmade blankets created by the lovely Donna Wilson. House £245. Blah-blah blanket £169.
