Tummy problems and an Antacid review.

The morning (and otherwise) sickness is exasperated by too much stomach acid in the tummy. Other than avoiding certain foods not much can be done to resolve this issue. Also, if you are in the same position as me where you are actually craving foods that make it worse antacids are the way to go! Below is a mini review on the ones I saw about on the high-street.

Tum Tums:
Thinking the fruity aspect of these would be helpful with my nausea it turned out to be of a burden. - The 'fruit taste' was pretty non-de-script not to mention pretty weak in taste. It was like sucking on a bit o' chalk, and even if you could do it without wanting to spit it out, one (even two) didn't seem to do much. A bit of a let down to be honest!

Gaviscon liquid (Aniseed):
I went for the Aniseed flavour of this brand due to being a tad tired of mint. The taste was okay, it was just really thick and hard to keep down, also again, sadly I didn't think it did much for my acid reflex or heartburn.

Superdrug 3 in 1 antacid:
These were great, helped with acid reflexes, heartburn and even settled stomach enough to stop sickness for a few hours. They had a strong peppermint taste which didn't seem manufactured. Also the price was really good, I can't recall exactly how much but I think it was just over a pound for a packet of 12. - Just goes to show that highstreet copies are a genuine contender for the 'real thing'

Deflatine:
Supposed to relive trapped wind but was did the same job as the others and was available all over high-street, didn't note it's other 'quality' but a good product all the same. It was pretty much the same as above, just more expensive and not a good as taste.

Peppermint tea:
Didn't notice any real benefits sadly, a shame as I am a big fan of most herbal teas advantages aside. It may be one of those things that differ for different people, although I find drinking any type of boiled water to help slightly in these situations.
